12,000+ MEATER Holiday Cards Are Shipping
This holiday season, MEATER won't be ready to be handed out. But we've prepared for this by creating a holiday postcard for you to show your loved ones that you care and get them amped about a brand new product that will only be in select households after the New Year.
The cards are now on their way and hopefully soon to be occupying your mailboxes, stockings, and refrigerator doors.
Production Update
We are currently running engineering samples of the MEATER probe that include the new battery and improved mechanical design. The overall look of the MEATER probe is unaffected but the internals have been made simpler to improve mass production manufacturability. Clearly, due to the changes in the design and addition of better components, we will not be able to ship MEATER in January. Although this is a bummer, I'm sure you agree an improved MEATER product will be worth the wait.
We know the big question is: When will it ship? We can give you an answer but unless we have results from our engineering samples, the best we can give you will still be a guess. Please give us a little bit more time to gather more data and we will present to you our shipping timeline.

So thankful for your support and love for MEATER.
Well over a year's worth of hard work and sweat was poured into this project and we couldn't thank you more for not just validating the idea but also sharing the campaign and product with your friends and loved ones. We knew we were on to something but just didn't how far or how high we were going to go. Of course, it is only the beginning =) Thank you so so much!

"Sudden Impact" To The Schedule
You know we’ve always had your best interest in mind and this time is no exception.
During the MEATER probe component selection process, we had 2 batteries to choose from: Battery A and Battery B. Battery A was our #1 choice but the manufacturing schedule did not align with the MEATER schedule so we decided to move forward with Battery B (this is the battery with the current specs). But four weeks ago, after many discussions with the Battery A vendor, we learned that we can actually move forward with our #1 choice battery. For the past 4 weeks, we’ve been doing extensive testing on Battery A and decided to implement the new battery technology sooner, to the first generation of MEATER (as opposed to second gen). Here are the benefits of the new battery:
More robust: Gives us a higher safety margin for the internal sensor
Smaller and less complex: Easier to manufacturer, implement, and assemble into the probe
More efficient: Charge remains nominal over a longer period of time
Charges faster: 5x faster than the original battery
As a creator, manufacturer, designer, and engineer, it was a no-brainer to use Battery A as it is a far superior next gen component! But as a KS project creator, we knew this was going to break our backers' hearts as it was going to affect the project schedule. It wasn't an easy decision but we knew in the long run moving to our #1 choice battery will further enhance the cooking experience.
We are excited and very happy of the remarkable outcome resulting from our Battery A tests and now working with the manufacturer to put together a realistic project and delivery schedule. We will provide an update on the new schedule as soon as it is locked down.

MEATER Holiday Card
Oh sweet potato pie! Sometimes it is a curse to be perfectionists. What we thought was the final version of the MEATER Holiday Card was actually just a step to an even better design! We've decided to turn the Holiday Card into a post card to make it easy for you to mail. We'll get it to the printer next week so you can start receiving them by 2nd/3rd week of December. Be on the look out for the survey today so we can get your addresses!

Oh hello! Didn’t see you there…
Talk about an incredibly busy 3 weeks since the campaign ended and based on the work to come, it’s not going to let up. Taking a quick breather now to give everyone an update on the MEATER Journey.
The following Monday after the campaign ended, I flew out to the UK to work side-by-side with Teemu.
We holed ourselves up in the office for the past 3 weeks evaluating fulfillment houses (so we can get the product to you), assessing product packaging, designing the MEATER Holiday Card, reviewing the Kickstarter Backer exclusive gift (to make sure you will like it), pushing our supplier on the schedule, and everything else under the roof. With so much work to do, we’ve also began hiring new employees to ensure our red hot journey continues to cook!
Without further ado, I want to introduce Keye (pronounced K-eyeball, the “ball” is silent) Chen. I’m sure some of you have already interacted with Keye and can agree he brings a monstrous energy of positivity, a care to your needs that would rival a Lion King protecting its cub from a Dentist, and a smile that ancient Greek Sculptures are modeled after.

Production Update
As we started the tooling process with vendors, we found a few details needing to be addressed for smooth mass production of the parts. The design changes were made and we are continuing the process to get tooling done and parts manufactured. We are working around the clock with our suppliers to make sure this happens quickly and without a hitch =) App development and hardware production preparation are still moving forward.
MEATER Holiday Card
We’re finalizing the design of the Holiday Card and will be sending it out to the printer very soon. Thinking about them makes me want to cuddle up in a warm blanket and sip on hot chocolate swimming with tiny artisanal marshmallows. We’ll provide pictures of the card as soon as they’re completed and send out a survey to get everyone’s addresses.
Kickstarter Exclusive Gift
We received samples of your special gift this week and they’re lookin’ goooooood! We’re currently evaluating build and material quality to make sure they are up to Apption Labs standards. Wish I can tell you more ;) The exclusive gifts will be included with MEATER when your products ship.
Ice Dip
Knowing how excited you are to see us take a dip in ice cold water, we’re waiting for it to get colder specifically for your enjoyment =) But don’t worry, it won’t get in the way of the MEATER schedule as it is the #1 priority for us right now.

We believe in MEATER, but never did we imagine we would have such an enormous outpouring of support from everyone! Thank you all so much for the words of wisdom, for helping with our video, posting, sharing, "Like"-ing, backing our Kickstarter, eating meat, and giving us the positive energy we needed to make this campaign a huge success.
Thank you until infinity. We hit our goal within the first two days, became "Most Popular" on Kickstarter, #3 most funded Kickstarter under the Food category and now it's time for the next ingredient in our cook. We're so happy to be able to continue forward with the production phase and hopefully you will all soon have MEATERs in your hands.
Teemu is now at the factory getting the production process started and he's been taking pictures (mostly selfies) to document the process. We want to share with you all how your MEATER is being built and provide as much transparency as possible. You are now part of the journey and we couldn't be any more appreciative to have 9,737 beautiful people supporting and believing in us!

Ice Ice Baby
This was supposed to be a "what if" we broke the 1000% funding stretch goal. We joked around a bit, ate some popcorn, answered more comments and messages...and again "what if"? And here we are. You made it happen and we Thank You! Now we're scouring Kickstarter and the internets for a connected swimsuit that also has a built in heater.
Really though, we're super excited to do this for all of you! We're now just waiting for the lakes in Finland to freeze over =)
